A Word From the Equipment Guy
Maintaining
the inventory of bats, balls, helmets,
catchers gear & umpires gear is
a brief description of the Equipment
Guy responsibilities. HBA and The
Equipment Guy will try very hard to
keep our gear up to date and safe.
If you have an equipment problem or
question, contact the Equipment Manager
to resolve the issue.
In addition to the equipment responsibilities,
The Equipment Guy also works with
the grounds crew team to keep a supply
of field maintenance items such as
Diamond Dry, Chalk and miscellaneous
tools. Please help the grounds crew
by raking and spraying (if needed)
the infield and covering the pitchers
mound and home plate area after your
practice or game.

cover field 4 when complete with practice
and games. New equipment and bags
have been purchased for each team.

cover field 1 when complete with practices
and games.

*** ANNOUNCEMENT
***
TWO new pitching machines were purchased
in 2007
The first machine
is a JUGS Jr. pitching machine that
will be used on field 1. This is a
single wheel machine that is designed
to give us years of accurate throwing
with minimal maintenance. It is important
that we keep the tire off the ground.
PLEASE do not wheel the machine across
the ground. The Jr. weighs 75 pounds
and two people can transport it with
ease from the garage to the pitching
mound keeping the tire out of the
dirt. Check out the Jr.
The second pitching machine is a Zooka.
This is a battery powered machine
that throws pitches from 10 to 60
mph. At full charge the internal battery
will throw 500 pitches at 40 mph.
An external battery has been purchased
and will throw 1000 pitches at 40
mph. Due to the lack of electrical
power on field 3 the Zooka should
be used there. Charge the Zooka after
each use. Checkout the Zooka.
Both new machines are kept in the
concession stand garage area. Please
ask for assistance if you have questions
or problems on either machine.
